HER PERSONAL LEGEND,
L/Chemy is about inspiring every individual to find their own personal magic. We believe that beauty begins the moment you remember who you are and own your magic. We seek to simplify your daily skin and personal care routines so that you have time to focus on life’s greater pursuits, engineering a life of ease so that you can realise your purpose - your personal legend.
Share we us a little about why you started L/Chemy.
L/Chemy was started in June 2021 as we wanted to formulate our own skincare for our patients at the Aesthetic Clinic of which I run alongside other Directors.
We were frustrated that we could not source for the exact products we had in mind that could cater to our patients skin and also lifestyle demands. Our clientele consists mainly of Business Owners, Doctors and Working Professionals who are also busy mothers and we wanted to meet the demands of their skin in a way that would also add value to their lives. This was not an easy task to embark on but I am glad we did.
We were not agreeable with very elaborate bottling and packaging which we end up throwing away and wanted to redefine these ways of doing things so that we could really focus on the quality of the formulation first and foremost. And at the same time drive down the superfluous costs of unnecessary and wasteful packaging. But it's really not easy as people are used to very pretty packaging.

What are your days like as the Founder of a skincare brand?
I work at the Aesthetic Clinic where L/Chemy is currently being sold. We spend a lot of time talking to patients, understanding their skincare needs and getting feedback on the various skincare brands they have tested and of course, recommending treatments and products that would help them achieve better skin. One of our foremost goals at the clinic is to really educate customers on how to use their skincare effectively, what sort of ingredients would really work for their unique skin type and really transforming their entire outlook on skincare - that like nutrition and fitness, also involves consistency, dedication and commitment.

Is there a particular talent or strength you had that helped you in your life and/or business?
I would like to think that it is my ability to empathise with people. I do make a sincere effort to put myself in another’s circumstance with the sole intention of being able to make their life better even if it is in a small way.

What is your personal legend?
I believe that each of is born with divine talents and gifts and that we are supposed to do something with this divine inheritance while we are here on Earth. This is what truly sets us apart from others and makes us unique. There is immense power when you remember who you are and own your magic.
It is my deep passion to inspire others to look within to discover and explore these gifts and to hone their talents in order to contribute positively to those around them.
I firmly believe that this is the way to reach one’s potential and to find true fulfilment - to create one’s own personal legend. This is the basis of our brand - that all of us embody magic.

What is one quote that you live by?
“It’s not about how much you do but how much love you put into what you do that counts.” I remember I first came across this quote from Mother Teresa as a teenager searching for meaning in life and it still serves as a guide till today. It's so important to have compassion. It's so important to be kind. It's already so hard being human!

What is the one piece of advice you would have for young women when it comes to beauty?
Find your own unique voice, your own unique light. You are most beautiful when you embody that which is your own soulful goodness. Do not be caught up with getting that perfect figure or perfect feature or meeting a certain standard that you forget to spend time on inner work - developing your character which makes you even more beautiful instantly. I am not saying we should not care about how we look but what I am saying is that we should not become too obsessed with it that we forget to spend time on "beautifying" our inner selves.

What makes L/Chemy different from other brands?
Having been in the Beauty Industry for over 10 years, I have personally tried hundreds of brands as part of my research. I really wanted to create something that I would use religiously and that would most importantly deliver on results while quietly rebelling against certain norms of the industry.
L/Chemy was created for people who want to do more with their time. It was created for people who actively seek simplicity coupled with efficiency and who understand that an elegant way of life is a simple one. Every single aspect from the formulation to the packaging is intentional, from the complex formula that delivers multiple benefits to the deliberate exclusion of expensive and elaborate packaging.
We also have a grand plan to transform the bathroom to a make it a healing space of self-care filled with simplicity, positivity and a sense of tranquility.

What is the L/Chemy product that you can’t do without? Why do you like it?
Definitely our liquid exfoliant, Breathe. It is my absolute favourite as it keeps my pores superbly clean especially if I do not have enough time for a facial. We formulated it with a unique blend of AHA and BHA acids to provide a comprehensive exfoliating effect on the skin while still retaining moisture. My face is so oily even at my age, thanks to my genes and also my stress levels so this really helps to manage the sebum and keep my skin consistently free from breakouts.
