1 ICE PLANT FERMENT
Ice Plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum) is a resilient succulent adapted to survive extreme dryness, heat and high-salinity environments, using specialised bladder cells to store water and maintain hydration under environmental stress. Through controlled Lactobacillus bio-fermentation with added Collagen, it is transformed into a ferment-lysate. Combining its natural water-retaining properties with beneficial fermentation-derived components, these postbiotic components help support a balanced skin environment and healthy barrier, indirectly creating favourable conditions for the skin microbiome. 2 POLYGLUTAMIC ACID
Polyglutamic Acid is a naturally occurring biopolymer famously associated with Natto, the traditional Japanese fermented soybean food, where it is produced through Bacillus fermentation and contributes to Natto’s characteristic moisture-binding texture. In skincare, it functions as a powerful moisture-retaining polymer, forming a smooth hydrating film over the skin to help reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and preserve hydration. It also supports the skin’s Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and helps improve moisture balance and elasticity. Working alongside Hyaluronic Acid, PGA strengthens the skin’s moisture-retention system, helping maintain a plumper, smoother, more supple and continuously hydrated complexion.

3 SQUALANE
Squalane, derived from olive oil, is a lightweight, skin-compatible lipid that closely resembles components naturally present within the skin’s own sebum. While hydration provides water, a small lipid component is equally important: the outer skin barrier is lipid-rich, allowing Squalane to integrate naturally between surface skin cells and provide an effective medium for lipid-soluble ingredients within the formulation. This improves spreadability and helps complementary oil-soluble actives interact effectively with the skin barrier. At the same time, Squalane forms a lightweight moisture-sealing layer, reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and helping preserve hydration, leaving skin softer, smoother, more supple and better protected against dehydration.
